The journey of “expression” is one every artist takes throughout their lives. However, mine is one in which I pursue questions, rather than answers, through my creative process. I push to test the boundaries – what, if anything, delineates jewelry vs. sculpture, wearable vs. non-wearable, precious vs. non-precious, and beyond that, craft vs. fine art? My work is less about defining what I make and more about the materials, the process, and the interaction between the artist and the viewer . Whether it is in a wearable or non-wearable format, each piece challenges and engages the audience through its use of common-place shapes and/or materials to reveal the stories within. The interpretation of what is being expressed is different for everyone, creating a complex and intimate relationship between the audience, the wearer, and the artist, with each one playing a necessary role in the artistic journey.
